“Fat Tuesday” celebration - In ancient times the Lenten fast included a fast from dairy and flour in addition to a fast from meat and poultry.  In order not to waste these precious food supplies, the family dinner the night before Ash Wednesday was prepared using all the flour, oil and dairy products in the pantry.  This tradition became known as “Fat Tuesday”.  Join your parish family on Tuesday, March 5 for a Pancake & Sausage Dinner with donuts for dessert!  Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7:00 pm in Farmer Hall.  Special Mardi Gras activities are planned for the celebration.  There is no charge for the event, but a Free Will Offering is appreciated.
